Professional Background

Ms. Venzuela is a member of the Litigation and Dispute Resolution Department of the Firm where she has developed an area of practice in tax, civil, criminal, commercial, banking litigation, and corporate rehabilitation and insolvency. She is also involved in tax advisory and corporate special projects, and has assisted in the regulatory compliance with reportorial requirements and other applications with government agencies, such as the Securities and Exchange Commission, Bureau of Internal Revenue, Bureau of Customs, and the Philippine Economic Zone Authority.

She is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE). She is a member of the international Association of Certified Fraud Examiners and its Philippine Chapter. As a CFE, she has consistently attended conferences and completed trainings focusing on Fraud Examination, Investigation and Prevention. Her study includes, among others, Financial Statements Fraud, Anti-Money Laundering, and Contract and Procurement Fraud, and the consequent interaction between public and private entities.

Ms. Venzuela has co-authored a legal briefing entitled Rehabilitation and liquidation proceedings in the Philippines in the In-House Lawyer Magazine Summer 2022 published by the Legal 500; the Philippine Chapter of the Insolvency 2021 Law and Practice Guide¸ Insolvency 2020 Law and Practice Guide, and the Insolvency 2019 Second Edition Law and Practice Guide and Trends & Developments, all published by Chambers and Partners; and the Philippine Chapter of the “INSOL-World Bank e-Publication: Group Global Guide: Measures Adopted to Support Distressed Businesses Through the COVID-19 Crisis” and its updates jointly published by INSOL International and World Bank Group.

She obtained her Juris Doctor degree from the Ateneo de Manila University School of Law in 2012 where she graduated with honors, and her Bachelor of Science degree in Accountancy from De La Salle University – Manila in 2007.
