Mr. Tan is an Associate in the firm’s Intellectual Property and Energy, Mining & Natural Resources departments. He is also engaged in civil and criminal litigation.
In the Energy, Mining and Natural Resources, Mr. Tan’s practice focuses on providing legal and regulatory advice to clients on matters involving project development, licensing, and compliance with government regulatory frameworks.
In the field of Intellectual Property, Mr. Tan handles trademark and patent portfolio management, enforcement actions, and strategies for the protection and proper utilization of intellectual property rights. He also assists clients with the commercial valuation of intellectual property rights to support their business transactions and strategic decision-making.
Mr. Tan regularly prepares legal opinions for clients engaged in renewable energy, mining, and intellectual property-driven industries as well as written regulatory advisories for industry developments, including the Energy Regulatory Commission’s adoption of the Price Determination Methodology for Non-FIT-Eligible Renewable Energy Technologies under the Green Energy Auction Program.
Mr. Tan attained his Juris Doctor degree from the University of the Philippines College of Law in 2023, where he was awarded the Dean’s Medal for Academic Excellence. He received his Bachelor of Science in Psychology degree from the Ateneo de Manila University in 2019, where he graduated cum laude.
He was admitted to the Philippine Bar in 2023.
