CMT’s work in AEV’s Sale of Stake in AboitizPower to JERA was also recognized as Equity Market Deal of the Year. Our firm acted as counsel for Aboitiz Equity Ventures, Inc. and Aboitiz & Company, Inc. in the sale of their 27% stake in Aboitiz Power Corporation, amounting to US$1.5 Billion, to JERA, Japan’s largest power generation company. The transaction was a milestone for the Aboitiz Group considering the significant amount involved and since it will leverage the strengths of both companies, unlock new growth opportunities, and will develop additional clean and renewable electric power generation capacity.
