Supreme Court constitutes Task Force to manage Covid-19

So that the Judiciary may manage the rising cases of Covid-19 infection, the Supreme Court, on 13 March 2020, constituted a Task Force, through Memorandum Order 26-2020, “Creating a Task Force to Address the Rising Cases of Covid-19 Infection” (hereafter “M.O. 26-2020”).

The Task Force is composed of Court Administrator Jose Midas P. Marquez as Chairperson; En Banc Clerk of Court Edgar O. Aricheta as Vice Chairperson; Hon. Raul B. Villanueva, Hon. Jenny Lind Aldecoa-Delorino, Hon. Leo T. Madrazo, Atty. Maria Carina M. Cunanan, Atty. Brian Keith F. Hosaka, Atty. Anita S. Jamerlan-Rey, Atty. Ma. Teresa S. Pabulayan, Atty. Danilo B. Fernando, and Atty. Ralph Jerome D. Salvador as members; Atty. Megan Daphne D. Musni as Secretary; and Hannah Matti M. Espinoza and Justin Zosimo D. Mendoza as Assistant Secretaries.

Among other functions and duties, the Task Force shall:

  • Address the immediate concerns of the Judiciary and issue needed directives;
  • Recommend actions, guidelines, and policies to the Chief Justice and Supreme Court En Banc;
  • Monitor the conditions of justices, judges, court officials, personnel, and workplaces to avert the spread of Covid-19;
  • Identify resource requirements for the implementation of such guidelines and policies;
  • Monitor Executive and Legislative issuances to harmonize the Judiciary’s actions;
  • Identify gaps in the implementation of pertinent guidelines and recommend corrective measures;
  • Prepare status reports for the Chief Justice and Supreme Court En Banc; and
  • Act on any and all directives issuing from the Chief Justice and Supreme Court En Banc.
