On 26 August 2023, the
Philippine Institute of Arbitrators (PIArb) and Cruz Marcelo & Tenefrancia (CMT)
will host the Accelerated Route to Membership (ARM) in International
Arbitration. CIArb
is the world’s leading qualifications and professional body for dispute
avoidance and dispute management, with headquarters in the United Kingdom.
This is an in-person rigid assessment course for candidates with knowledge,
proficiency, and experience in alternative dispute resolution. Upon passing the
examination, candidates are eligible for membership to the CIArb. Twenty-three
(23) candidates, mostly senior arbitration practitioners in the Philippines,
are joining the course on Saturday. This will be conducted by the CIArb faculty
of the East Asia Branch based in Hongkong. Senior Partner and head of our
Arbitration practice Elmar B. Galacio, a Fellow of CIArb will be shadowing the
course as Tutor.
