IPOPHL joins nation in observing Eid’l Fitr; adjusts resumption of limited operations

The Philippine Intellectual Property Office (“IPOPHL”) issued Memorandum Circular (MC) No. 2020-013B amending MC No.. 2020-013 adjusting its schedule for the resumption of its limited operation due to the nation’s observance of Eid’l Fitr on 25 May 2020.

On 19 May 2020, Presidential Proclamation No. 944 was issued declaring Monday, 25 May 2020, as a regular holiday throughout the country in observance of Eid’l Fitr (Feast of Ramadhan).

Pursuant to this declaration, IPOPHL, under MC No. No. 2020-013B, adjusted the schedule of its resumption of limited regular operations:

1. IPOPHL shall resume limited regular operations at its main office commencing on 26 May 2020;

2. Cashiering and documentary receiving operations at the IPO Main Office shall resume on 28 May 2020;

3. Scheduled hearings before the IPO shall remain suspended until 25 May 2020. These include mediation hearings unless the parties request for online hearing or conference. Hearings scheduled 26 May 2020 onwards, including online mediation, shall proceed unless otherwise advised; and
