Cruz Marcelo & Tenefrancia Managing Partner Patricia A. O. Bunye will join the distinguished roster of speakers at the Energy Council Manila 2026 (EC Manila 2026) on 22 September 2026.

Energy Council Manila 2026 is one of the Philippines’ premier energy conferences, convening senior government officials, industry executives, investors, developers, and legal advisers to discuss the country’s evolving energy landscape. The event serves as a platform for high-level dialogue on energy security, investment opportunities, sustainability, and the transition toward a more resilient and diversified energy sector.

Ms. Bunye will join an esteemed lineup of speakers that includes Department of Energy Secretary Sharon Garin, Undersecretaries Alessandro O. Sales and Rowena Cristina L. Guevara, as well as chief executives and senior leaders from Meralco PowerGen (MGEN), ACWA Power, Verdant Energy, Ophiolite Energy, GAC Group, ING, IFS Copperleaf, Matahio Energy, and other leading organizations shaping the future of the Philippine energy industry.

As CMT’s Managing Partner and head of its Mining & Energy practice, Ms. Bunye brings decades of experience advising local and international clients on complex commercial transactions, energy projects, foreign investments, and regulatory matters. Her participation reflects the firm’s longstanding involvement in supporting stakeholders across the Philippine energy sector through strategic legal counsel on project development, regulatory compliance, investment structuring, and commercial transactions.

The conference will bring together policymakers, regulators, investors, and industry leaders to examine the Philippines’ energy agenda through 2030. Discussions will focus on strengthening the country’s energy security, revitalizing upstream exploration, accelerating renewable energy deployment, expanding LNG and other midstream infrastructure, mobilizing capital for energy and infrastructure projects, leveraging digital technologies and artificial intelligence, and exploring emerging energy solutions such as hydrogen and small modular reactors (SMRs). Together, these sessions aim to address the legal, commercial, and policy considerations necessary to build a more secure, resilient, and sustainable Philippine energy sector.
