Attys. Jacques S. Lynn and Maria Theresa M. Domingo Accredited as Arbitrators of the Philippine International Center for Conflict Resolution (PICCR)

After undergoing the rigorous accreditation course of the Philippine International Center for Conflict Resolution (PICCR) over a period of several months from June 2020 to January 2021 and successfully passing numerous assessment examinations, Cruz Marcelo & Tenefrancia Partner Atty. Jacques S. Lynn and Senior Associate Atty. Maria Theresa M. Domingo join Senior Partner Atty. Elmar Galacio, FCIArb in the ranks of accredited arbitrators of the PICCR.

 

The Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) established PICCR as a non-stock, non-profit arbitral institution that will provide commercial arbitration and other alternative dispute resolution services and facilities for parties to disputes, and create opportunities for professional training, development, and accreditation for advocates and practitioners. The PICCR aims to promote the use of arbitration by providing arbitration-related facilities, administrative, and case management services at par with those of international arbitral institutions, as well as high-quality education and training for interested arbitrators and intensive promotional and marketing events, particularly during IBP events.

 

Atty. Lynn has represented clients before the Construction Industry Arbitration Commission (CIAC) as well as ad hoc arbitrations, and is a Trained Arbitrator of the Philippine Dispute Resolution Center, Inc. (PDRCI). She has completed an ICC Institute Training on International Commercial Arbitration in Tokyo (2016) and an ICC Institute Training in International Contracts in Paris (2015), as well as several workshops of the ICC Young Arbitrators Forum in Tokyo (2016 & 2014). Atty. Lynn co-authored the Global Legal Insights article in International Arbitration – Philippines in 2020 and 2021.  

 

Atty. Domingo is a Senior Associate of Cruz Marcelo & Tenefrancia and a member of the Litigation and Dispute Resolution Department. She is a trained arbitrator, having undergone both local and international training from, among others, the Philippine Dispute Resolution Center, Inc. (PDRCI), Philippine Institute of Arbitrators (PIArb) and the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC).  Atty. Domingo has been cited as a Key Lawyer in Dispute Resolution in the 2020 Legal 500 Asia Pacific Rankings. She has successfully represented various corporations in commercial and construction arbitration. Atty.  Domingo co-authored the Chapter on Philippine Arbitration in the Legal 500 2nd Edition Arbitration Comparative Guide published in 2017 and contributed the Philippine Chapter of the “INSOL International – World Bank Group Global Guide: Measures adopted to support distressed businesses through the COVID-19 crisis” published in 2020.
