The Securities and Exchange Commission (“SEC”) has launched a new Company Registration System (“CRS”) on 21 November 2017, which became fully operational on 24 November 2017.
The CRS is the online registration of corporations, issuance of certificates of authority of lending and financing companies, and licensing of foreign corporations.
It signifies the gradual shift from the i-Register, the online name verification facility of the SEC. The facility to check the availability of company names is already integrated with the CRS. The applicant-registrant can log in at the CRS web portal at crs.sec.gov.ph and create an account to start the name verification process.
The CRS is also equipped with an online payment facility, provided, that the applicant has a Land Bank and/or BancNet account. The applicant may also pay at the SEC cashier.
